Many Chamber member organizations have been affected by the recent flooding in our community. There are numerous resources available for support, and we want to help you access what you need by providing the following summary of where and how you can get assistance.
I have spoken to many of you personally, and would like to reiterate that the Chamber is here to help you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us and let us know what we can do for you.

SBC services are offered at no cost through the collaborative efforts of the Freeport Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Freeport, Northwest Illinois Development Alliance, Freeport/Stephenson County Visitors Center, and Freeport Downtown Development Foundation.LARGE ITEM PICK UP
Garbage haulers will not pick up large items such as chairs, mattresses or furniture without scheduling a special pickup.

$10 per item
Call by Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m.
Pickup on Wednesdays
If your hauler is Gill's Disposal:

Call by Wednesdays at 4PM

Your garbage hauler will not, in any instance, pick up used tires or televisions. These must be stored inside a building until disposed of with an electronic recycler or at a recycling event, or at a tire recycler or tire recycling event.BUILDING PERMIT FEES WAIVED
The City of Freeport will waive building permit fees to victims that have been affected by the recent flooding for repairs to damage caused by flood waters. Stephenson County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has advised that lime will be delivered to Ross Auto Glass at 737 E. Stephenson, Freeport, at 2:00 p.m. Aug. 2.
According to EMA, the lime is to be lightly spread over outdoor areas affected by flooding to combat odor. This is for outdoor use only.ASSISTANCE WITH CLEAN UP
FACC Offers Clean-Up Assistance, Call: 815.233.0435 (ext. 1).TO VOLUNTEER YOUR SERVICES
FACC will coordinate volunteers wishing to assist in the cleanup efforts. Those wishing to volunteer to help with flood relief and cleanup, call 815.233.0435 (ext 2).
Mosquito Abatement Hotline: 800-942-2555
The Stephenson County Health Dept. strongly recommends the public use the mosquito hotline number to register high levels of mosquitos, standing water near residence, and if they would like to be added to the list of people to notify of when spraying occurs.
